Let's Talk Cold Weather

Daylight is limited and high winds, freezing temperatures, and snow fall are all more than likely variables to keep riders inside.

No matter the elements, there are miles to be clocked & strava routes to be made.

We took a look at our Winter lineup to get you outside and riding this season.

Start with a nice base layer to protect your core heat— we like the Specialized Seamless Baselayer. This will lock in heat, and wick moisture from the body, keeping you insulated & dry. Next, we like to throw on our favorite Craft Ideal thermal jersey, and the Craft Core Ideal Jacket. The jacket looks great on and off the bike, while protecting against the cold, wind, and possible precipitation.

Toss on some of our favorite Craft Cycling tights to offer wind protection and insulation where you need it most- your knees. With the knees doing the most on your rides, make sure your tights have an added layer of wind protection.

We also like to recommend a nice winter cap or balaclava, a Craft neck gaiter, some swift wick wool socks, reflective booties, and core essence thermal grip gloves.

With limited daylight, be sure to double and triple check that your Specialized Stix are fully charged for the miles ahead. Stay safe on the roads with our his visibility & reflective apparel options.

If you are headed out for a long winter ride this season, be sure to consider packing multiple pairs of gloves to account for sweaty hands. Be sure to also dress & pack in multiple layers. Lastly, plan to pack more than adequate food & water, seeing as your body will need to calorically compensate for not just your distance & speed, but also freezing temps.

The weather outside is frightful, but long rides are still delightful. Check out cold weather products below and even more at the shop!
